Location: Mexico City

Mode: Full time

Reporting to: Strategic Engagement, Advocacy Campaigns and Public Relations director

Starting date: October 2019

Remuneration: 35,000 to 40,000 mexican pesos net, plus benefits beyond law

Objective of the position

Strengthening the strategic engagement activities associated with investors and financial system advocacy in the context of the UN Guiding Principles on HR&B and with the corporate accountability agenda.


–Along with the team, planning, designing and implementing activities associated to strategic engagement and advocacy with investors, nationally and internationally.

–Along with the team, planning, designing and implementing activities associated to promoting changes within the financial system that enable corporate accountability.

–Support the design, planning, implementation and evaluation of Strategic engagement processes that include other organizations, causes, communities, workers, and authorities, as well as local and regional authorities.

–Construction and maintenance of relationships with key stakeholders.

–Executing ongoing evaluation and learning processes.

–Supporting the development of Advocacy Campaigns among investors and other key stakeholders.

–Developing materials to reinforce Strategic Engagement processes.

–Systematizing strategic information for political and investors advocacy.

–Developing strategic and analytical documents


–Proven involvement as an activist in favor of human rights in processes of advocacy and engagement among investors, governments, SCO, communities and/or companies.

–Previous experience associated with corporate accountability and PODER’s areas of influence.

–A college degree in finances, economic sciences, social sciences; managing PODER’s areas of influence.

–Experience in producing materials, methodologies and communication for advocacy before diverse contributors.

–Specific knowledge on logistics, planning, and execution of training, escorting and strategic engagement processes.

–Knowledge of strategic industries, such as extracting, energetic, infrastructure and transportation, financial is highly desirable.

–Managing human rights normative frames, and knowledge in financial systems is desirable.

–Traveling availability.

–Being familiar with the integration of gender perspective

–Critical and independent analysis.

–Sensibility for working with diverse communities and investors.

–Sensible to interests, needs and dynamics of the communities.

–Committed to strengthening the civilian society and innovating for social change.

–Excellent writing skills, ideally in English and Spanish. Perfect spelling and grammar in spanish.

–Argumentative and demonstrative solidity.

–Organization and planning.
